Healthtech Exploration Workshop

Providing mentorship, innovation training, and hands-on experience to diverse college interns at companies in the healthtech ecosystem.

2024 Company Interest Form

The DxD HealthTech Exploration Workshop was developed to encourage early- to mid-stage companies in the health technology ecosystem to hire interns from groups historically underrepresented in STEM, and provide those interns with an intensive learning experience that includes interactions with a larger community of industry experts, mentors and peers. The series exposes interns to the field of healthtech innovation, provides access to a network of mentors, and equips them with skills that will serve them regardless of their ultimate career choice.

The 2024 Healthtech Exploration Workshop will bring interns to the Bay Area July 8-9, at Fogarty Innovation. Highlights of the program included:

  • A workshop on the Stanford Biodesign process
  • Case studies and panels featuring healthtech innovators
  • Speed mentoring and networking with industry leaders
  • Career and personal development sessions.

Workshop Panel

“Our interns loved the DxD Summer Program last year and our ability to offer it to them made our internships more competitive.”

—Renee Ryan, healthtech executive

“Through my summer internship and experience with DXD it became very clear that you can be intentional about the devices you create while making them high-tech, world-class and accessible to the people who need it most.”

—Nour Mary Aissaoi

“I enjoyed the fact that the DxD Summer Innovation Seminar is not just a lecture series. We actually worked in teams, using the biodesign process on a project to address a real health issue. That really forces you to understand what’s challenging about the biodesign process.”

—Clementene Clayton

“As a medical student, I feel like I’ve been exposed to a lot of medicine and science, but not to medtech innovation. Learning about the process that goes into building a device and realizing that creativity can be a logical, sequential process that can be channeled into a product, was really cool.”

—Vedanshi Bhargava
