REFOCUSING ON 2025 & BEYOND

Developing inclusive healthtech solutions that address the unique challenges faced by all individuals is not just a matter of fairness—it’s critical for building a more equitable and sustainable future. Technological innovation, and the companies driving it, should serve everyone, regardless of gender, race, culture, socioeconomic status or geography. Through our programs, we identify, develop and empower underrepresented future talent and provide training and resources to ensure that more women and underrepresented people have awareness of the need for their entry and retention in the medtech ecosystem ensuring technological advancements which reflect the needs of all individuals. By addressing gaps in representation and access, we drive meaningful change toward a more inclusive and impactful healthtech ecosystem.

DxD was founded and is supported as a partnership between the Stanford Biodesign and Fogarty Innovation.

Initially centered on gender inequity, the initiative has expanded to target racially and culturally diverse and underrepresented groups. Research has proven that the quality of care and outcomes are different for people of color, women, and gender nonconforming individuals.

We can only solve that by acknowledging intentional or unintentional bias, accepting the imperative of needed change and investing time and resources to build a community of innovators and healthcare professionals that will respond to these inequities.
